Girls Football

One of the real highlights of St Andrew’s Football is seeing the many girls playing for St Andrews each Saturday from U7 to U12. This is one of the few sports that boys and girls get to play alongside each other and they do so with such great sportsmanship.

I just wanted to pass on my sincere thanks to all St Andrew’s Football Club families for an absolutely wonderful start to St Andrew’s Football on Saturday. It was unbelievably brilliant. I have been blown away by the support and genuine interest in St Andrew’s Football. The sense of fun and enjoyment by so many on Saturday was a highlight. Saturday also showcased all the great aspects of the College and the wonderful sense of community. There were so many lovely comments and I thank our visitors Noosa Football Club, Coolum Football Club and Nambour Football Club for their fantastic sportsmanship on Saturday.

Importantly I saw young children enjoying Football, working together, supporting each other whilst playing hard, smiling and patting each other on the back during the games. A delight to witness because this is what sport should be about.

Getting a sports club off the ground involves lots of work and a very special thank you to Wendy Porter who has done so much administrative work. I also want to thank Lisa, Courtney and Yvonne at the Sunshine Coast Football association who have been incredibly helpful. Victoria in the Uniform shop has been amazing also. Rui has been superb with trainng and we are so lucky to have him working with the players.
